Shann Yu, PhD is an Associate Director & Chief of Staff for AbbVie Ventures, the corporate venture arm for AbbVie Inc. He joined AbbVie in 2022 as part of their Strategic Leadership Program, during which he served briefly in the business development & acquisitions and the pipeline strategy & analytics teams prior to joining the investment team. He also serves on the boards for several of AbbVie’s other investments. Prior to joining AbbVie, Shann co-created and led the Chicago Immunoengineering Innovation Center at the University of Chicago from 2018-22. Shann holds degrees in biomedical engineering from Rice University and Vanderbilt University and completed postdoctoral training in immunology at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL)
