Karim brings over two decades of experience in pharmaceutical drug discovery and development to Genevive, which he co-founded in 2023 and where he serves as Executive Chairman. He is a Director and CEO of Silver Creek Pharmaceuticals and held past roles as Director and CEO of Second Genome, and Independent Director and Chairman of the Board of MaaT Pharma. Prior to that, Karim spent over a decade in executive roles with Pfizer and Roche, where he led teams in drug discovery, external R&D and business development activities.
Karim received his doctorate in biochemistry from University College, London, and his bachelor’s degree in biotechnology from the Imperial College, London. He completed postdoctoral fellowships at the Cardiovascular Research Institute at the University of California, San Francisco, and at Stanford University. He is an author on over 50 peer reviewed articles and issued/published patents.
